Tariffs back on the table...Again

The U.S. plans to reset tariffs on key South Korean imports; including automobiles, lumber, and pharmaceuticals, from 15% back to 25%, following delays in the approval of a trade deal reached in July 2025.

While the agreement was reaffirmed by both presidents, the lack of legislative action is now translating into real cost and compliance consequences for importers and logistics providers.

What’s often overlooked:

Tariffs don’t just raise costs; they compress decision timelines. When policy shifts happen this fast, companies with agile customs processes and strong broker partnerships gain a quiet but powerful advantage.

As CBP guidance develops, freight forwarders, importers, and supply chain leaders should reassess routing, contracts, and landed-cost assumptions sooner rather than later.
